Sea Kayaking Trip 2nd April 2023

Postby tongea » Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:43 pm

We have very limited capacity for our club sea trip this month as 4/5 regular club leaders are away.

I will be running a sheltered water trip on Sunday, please sign up if you want to attend.

If the slots are full please contact me directly if you intend to join, depending on skill mix and venue we may be able to work something out, don’t just turn up.

I’ll confirm the meeting venue and timings here on Friday or Saturday, if you’re signed up I’ll try to contact you directly too.

Hi Alan.
I have been monitoring this for the last few days and can't believe that I have missed a slot. If anyone drops out, please let me know. Suzanne

The weather forecast has been a bit back and forth this week, but based on the current forecast I propose to paddle from Porth Trecastell on Sunday (our back up is a one way trip on the straits but this would require a shuttle).

For those of you travelling on Sunday I plan to be at the A5/A55 Starbucks at 09:00 leaving at 09:30, for those already on the Island we will meet at Porth Trecastell at 10:00 (I’ll phone David or Graham if anything changes).

Looks like it should be a nice day.

A mainly overcast day but enjoyable nevertheless - great to meet up with members of the club again - thanks to Alan for organising.
A brief blog here:

Here's a similar trip last summer in the heatwave:

If that doesn't work go to my YouTube channel ("Jules Kayak"), the sea kayaking playlist, title Llandwyn Island, Anglesey, Sea Kayaking.
Apologies for any adverts I haven't discovered how to prevent them yet

My waist mounted towline is described here amongst other kit:

Help yourselves to exploring the YouTube channel and the website !
