Touring Trip & Camping - Sunday 28th May

Postby Chris Wood » Sat May 20, 2023 7:19 pm

Hi everyone, We will be paddling up the estuary at Barmouth next Sunday (28th) for our monthly flat water tour. Because of tide times we will be setting of on the water from 1.00pm, so it will be a leisurely start to the day.
As it's also a bank holiday weekend and a long way to go, some of us have decided to camp the night before courtesy of fellow members Suzanne & Rick on their farm in Wales and again afterwards on the Sunday night. You're also welcome to join us, the facilities will be basic and you'll need to be prepared for a bit of wild camping! Please let me know if you're coming to paddle and also if you are camping so we can be prepared.

Camping post code is LL219PY & the What3Word is impresses.tougher.refills

I'll post more details later with meeting details for the Sunday paddle.

Hi here's some more details for this weekends tour.
Camping: Saturday & Sunday evenings. as previously mentioned open to all paddlers.
Sunday Paddle: We will meet at the beach. As we are launching from the beach we are allowed onto the sand, we'll use a ramp near the shop/harbour master, there is a main car park near by as well. Meet at 11.30am to paddle off at 12.00 noon. We are doing a there and back tour, at the turning point we'll have either lunch in a pub or bring your own whilst we wait for an hour for the tide to turn.

What3Words = Beach entrance ramp = surfacing.just.neat
Main Car Par = jams.scoreboard.bookshelf

See you on Saturday on the farm if your camping or Sunday if just paddling! It may be hot so bring sunscreen.

Just to say that the village is Betws Gwerfil Goch. We're not far from Bala and Betws-y-Coed.

If you let us know what time you're thinking of arriving, we'll meet you at the gate. My number is 07711 367966.

Looking forward to seeing you and to the paddle on Sunday :D.

Best wishes

Suzanne
