July Sea Kayak Trip Sunday 2nd July 2023

Postby tongea » Fri Jun 23, 2023 7:03 pm

We are planning to run our usual club trip on Sunday 2nd July 2023, somewhere around the Anglesey coast.
Sign up to either group using the Google Documents link below.

We will agree whether to operate as one extended group or split once we know who’s coming and will agree the make up of groups based on what we plan to do and peoples abilities and preferences and any other relevant factors .

Several of us will also be on Anglesey the day before (Saturday 1st July) and intend to paddle, as a peer group this could be a trip but if there is appetite and depending on weather we might run a skills development/practice session (including towing, rescues, incident management and the like). If you think you might join us on Saturday please contact me (Alan Tonge). Bring helmets, towlines (long and contact) if you have them and any other safety equipment you might want to try out.

The details of where and when to meet on Sunday will be communicated via the Forum by the person leading each of the trips. We will also try to contact you directly if you’ve signed up.

Please note: Fraser and I are also planning to paddle on the weekend of 15th and 16th July with a led-trip on at least one day. We’ll post details and set up a booking sheet closer to the time.

Still working with plan A for this weekend with semi-sheltered skills practice on Saturday and an attempt to find some shelter from the wind on Sunday, watch this space for updates as the wind forecast will dictate where we paddle/meet.

Thanks Alan T

Hi all we are meeting tomorrow morning at 09:30 at Menai Bridge slipway,

We will paddle East towards Beaumaris then drop back down through the Swellies before heading back (though our exact route may change)

See you there.
