RACE DAY: 10th Sept - Duddon Marathon Hasler Race

Postby AndyH » Wed Aug 16, 2023 8:30 pm

Sunday 10th Sept - RACE DAY - DUDDON RACE: SOUTH LAKES

Borwick Hall, Carnforth LA6 1JU

Duddon haven't yet release full race details and timings so please keep your eyes out.
The race will take place on the Lancaster Canal starting and finishing from the private canal bank of the Elizabethan Borwick Hall and extending between Tewitfield and Carnforth. This is a fairly wide canal running through open countryside and having a little leisure traffic. Expect a few patches of weed. There is ample free parking and toilet facilities.

Please let Adrian or Andrew know that you’d like to attend and they can help organise transport for boats etc. I'm away on holiday for the race and weeks before so wont be around to remind everyone. Feel free to use the Facebook group or this post to discuss arrangements.

This is the first race of the 2024 season and is a good race to have a go at.

In the Bollington shed there are at least two sets of V-bars, with fittings for square and aero roof bars. These are for people to use to take race boats to races ..

I am planning to go to the South Lakes race and will have space to take one club boat and one or two paddlers if anyone wants to compete. Let me know at andrew_millest@hotmail.com
