Sea Paddle Sunday 5th March

Postby tongea » Tue Feb 28, 2017 8:28 pm

I am planning this Sunday's Club Sea paddle,

The tides are not ideal but assuming the weather forecast remains as it is, I was thinking of doing a round trip from Moelfre, north and back. This may change depending on the wind.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll confirm details later in the week.

Hi.

Myself and Teresa may be interested, but we would need to borrow Sea boats.

Hi Daryl,

Thanks for getting in touch it would have been great for you to join us, but unfortunately someone contacted me earlier in the week and asked to use the club sea boats. I was waiting for them to confirm before I got back to you.

If there's anywhere else you can borrow Sea Boats for this weekend let me know Ill post the plan for Sunday here.

We've been quite oversubscribed for club sea boats this month which is great news on one hand (lots of people interested) but means we've had to let several people down, I'll raise with the committee next week.

It looks like there could be 6 of us on Sunday

My plan is for us to meet at the A5/A55 services at 9:30 to decide exactly where to paddle based on conditions. There's no desperate rush to get on the water as the tide will be coming in all day (as far as we're concerned).

My preferred option is to paddle North from Moelfre up towards Point Lynas and back, this will give us shelter from the wind if it's Westerly.

An alternative is Menai Straits but this may require a shuttle.

For those who can't borrow a boat for the sea trip ...... consider the Hare and Hounds handicap at the club in Bollington on Sunday. Meet up at 9-15 am for 9-30 start. It's ideal prep for your next sea trip. Also consider the club ergo session on Monday 27th March. All canoeing is good canoeing. Club boats are available.
