Club Awards 2010 - 2011.

It is that time of year again with the annual Club Awards Evening in April.
As always it is down to the club membership ( everyone, junior & senior, coaches & helpers ) to nominate those who it thinks is worthy of mention for the following awards :-

Best Newcomer.

Most Promising Athlete.

Most Improved Athlete.

Female Commendation.

Male Commendation.

Female Endurance. - For performances at Marathon distance & beyond on any surface

Male Endurance. - As female above.

Best Track & Field Performance.

Best Cross Country Performance.

Other Individual Performances of the Year.

Team Performance of the Year.

Club Contribution award - Anyone who has contributed to the club scene in any way can be nominated.

Winners will not necessarily be those most nominated but all nominations will be considered by the Clubs Committee & a vote taken if necessary. In the unlikely event of a tie in votes the club chairman carries a casting vote.

Please let your coach, team manager or any member of the club committee have your nominations in writing or email them to me via the link on this website.

I am now starting to get emails & verbal nominations from various members.
However it pains me to say it but that they are all from those who make the effort & nominate every year. That is not to decry or devalue their nominations its just that there are nearly 500 members in the club & at best around 20 contribute ideas etc...
What about the rest of you !.
Your club, your awards, so please contribute & don't leave it until the day before the awards are made as some members have in the past.

It takes me over a month to gather perpetual trophies & get them engraved etc... Further all the awards are discussed & agreed at committee level & that happens by the end of February at the very very latest.

I'd like to nominate Sue Rowson for the best award possible. She and other coaches turn out week after week, year after year and she's always there when I want to train for a marthon. She's marvellous and deserves a medal.
