Great sporting moments

Postby phil cheek » Wed Jun 23, 2010 9:20 pm

UNBELIEVABLE
I`ve spent the last 7 hours spellbound by a sport of which I`m not more than a casual fan.
Apart from the fact that niether went to the loo for nearly 7 hours!!!!!!
Between games I just put forward a few of greatest "moments" in sport, though I honestly believe this is the best ever.
A few ideas....
Tied test Windies-Aus
Monza F1 GP with 5 cars within 1 second.
Rumble in the jungle
Matthews FA cup final
Man United European cup final win from "lost"
Tour de France Le Mond win in Paris Time Trial
Tour de France Roche recovery on mountain stage
Bailey & Watson rearguard partnership
The Ironman collapse(sorry I`ve forgotten her name) that established the sport
Jim Peters` marathon collapse
Colin Cowdrey`s over with a broken arm to save a test
& from our own sport & very personal....
Kimm elite many years ago when 2 teams appeared from different directions & raced to the finish....& a Swedish Kimm when the 2 teams were actually together at the finish.
& we should mention the chairman`s 23,58ish Charlie Ramsay
& Chris Cripps` 23.58.15 paddy Buckley
Other ideas.....

Honoured to be considered in there with such auspicious memories but Phil exaggerates slightly it was 23hr & 56minutes & all perfectly under control !. Well thats my story & I'm sticking to it.
Cheers.
Craig.

I recall watching that game as it happened - awesome! Notice the two high tackles by the Kiwis - wouldn't be allowed these days.

There was definitely a tactic to Remove JPR's head!
Can't remember if this was before or after the game when they stamped his face and he stitched HIMSELF back together before continuing the game. One of my all time sporting heroes!
