Those of you who knew Ray may wish to know that a book of condolence has been opened in his memory to which you can add your tribute. The book can be found in Macclesfield Town Hall - ask at reception and they will direct you.

A Service of Thanksgiving will take place for Ray in St Michaels Church, Macclesfield on Friday 19th October at 2.15pm. The service will be followed by a private family committal. Flowers welcome, donations if desired may be sent for Cancer Research or the British Heart Foundation.

Lots of people knew Ray Eagle from when he was a member of Macc. Harriers and he still maintained contact with many whilst running with Wilmslow Running Club. He was known as a runner's runner. And he was quick! There weren't many days when he didn't get out for a training run and I would frequently see him pounding the streets and surrounding lanes of Macclesfield no matter what the weather.
