Birtles Buzzard Beware

Yesterday I was attacked by a Buzzard whilst running cross country up from
Monks Heath towards the back of Birtles Hall. I didn't see it coming and it gave me a huge clout on the back of the neck and bounced off my bald head.
So beware if you are out that way.

Interesting! I imagine our ornithological members will have a view on this.
A perceived threat; food or impression of a female Buzzard?

Without doubt this would be a female with "large egg mothering instinct syndrome".

seriously you do get them.

Ian,
You should feel honoured. Not many folk get that close to a large bird of prey.
Seriously though it is likely to be repeated to you or others in the locality over the next few weeks if,as is likely,it is a parent bird with young in a nest nearby.
