Charity Race Places

Postby Mandy » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:45 am

I have received this e-mail about potential race places. Anyone interested please contact directly

ACE Centre North has 10 places available in this year’s Great North Run on Sunday 18th September 2011.

If you know anyone who is keen to run but has not yet been able to secure a place, I would be grateful if you could ask them to contact Rachel or Steve at ACE Centre North on 0161 358 0151 or at rthwaite@ace-north.org.uk

We are asking individuals to pay £66 registration fee at the time of registering, and to pledge to raise as much sponsorship as they can.

Please note that the event organisers insist that all runners are registered by 8th July 2011, and ask anyone interested to contact ACE Centre North as soon as possible.

Based in Greater Manchester, ACE Centre North is a registered charity that supports disabled children and adults with the most complex and severe communication difficulties – individuals who are unable to speak, many of whom are also unable to write or access e-technology directly. We specialise in the identification of strategies and equipment that can provide an alternative means of communication that is as quick, simple and effective as possible. If you are familiar with Professor Stephen Hawking, you will have an idea of the type of technology services we provide to people with disabilities. Our speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and occupational therapists work with this technology, ‘giving people a voice’ who have previously not been able to express themselves.

Thank you for your time.

Another One!

The Liverpool Marathon - 09 October 2011

Why not take part and raise some money for our volunteer lifeboat crews?
The Liverpool Marathon is back and it will see as many as 12,000 participants take to the roads of Merseyside. The proposed 26.2 miles will take in both sides of the River Mersey as well as 3 parks, 1 historic tunnel and a route lined with iconic landmarks.

We ask all of our guaranteed place runners to pay a £40 registration fee and raise a minimum of £200 sponsorship. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please go to http://bit.ly/edFocW
and register today.

All RNLI participants will receive full fundraising support and an RNLI running vest.
