Macc Half & 5k - volunteers needed - 25th September

Postby Neil Gunn » Sat May 21, 2016 12:52 pm

The planning for the 2016 Macclesfield Half Marathon (and 5k) on Sunday 25th September is well underway. This year we hope it will be bigger and better than ever with the introduction of a schools challenge, a sports club challenge and a corporate challenge so please encourage your family, friends and colleagues to enter either the half or 5k (http://www.macc-half.co.uk)

As usual the race will be donating all net profits to three local charities (East Cheshire Hospice, Rossendale Trust, Space4Autism).

As usual the organising team will be hoping that as many club members as possible will volunteer their time to help with the various jobs that need doing as this is our big road race of the year and we raise a lot of money for local charity - this is your chance to put something back into the club.

Please remember that without volunteers there would be no race. It is not a ‘rule’ but we do expect club members to help out (and if you plan to run then maybe you can do a job before the race or get a friend or family member to represent you).

We need people for all 130 jobs needed (parking, entries, race numbers, catering, course marshals, lead and sweep cars, rubbish collection, start, finish, goody bags etc etc). People who volunteer early get the pick of the jobs!

So - if you or any friends/family/colleagues can help out on Sunday 25th September then please contact me at neil.gunn@gmaIl.com or 07786 855027 (or use http://goo.gl/forms/2ELjEcIRIaMk1dAA2) - you get to wear a hi-viz vest and there is an excellent free buffet afterwards with a chance to socialise with fellow club members.

Many thanks,
