Digby's BG - 20th/21st July

Postby Digby » Sun May 27, 2007 5:33 pm

Hi, with the very positive encouragement of Craig and others I have been persuaded to have an attempt at the BG this year. The plan will be to start at 6.30pm on Friday 20th July. I will probably aim to try and complete the round on a 23 hour schedule. Any offers of practical support (e.g. logisitics co-ordinator(!), road support, food & drink carrying) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers, Digby

Well to back up the encouragement I'm now offering to pace as well. Probably either Leg 2 or 3. Janet will hopefully come too ( child care arrangements permitting ) & we will make a weekend of it. If you end up with cast of thousands of potential pacers I would bow out to allow some of the next generation of completists earn there pacers proficiency badges !.

As we discussed at the weekend I`ll do the Langdales & on towards the Pike but would need to hand over to someone else for the rough stuff at the end of the leg.
Annette will lead the last leg(& carry the coffee flasks!)
Did you sign Chris up for Wasdale-Honister?
Is it your tent I picked up from Annette`s garage?

Navigators

Postby Digby » Tue May 29, 2007 6:58 pm

Hi Craig, Phil and Julie

Thanks for your offers of support - much appreciated.

Craig - I'll put you down for navigating leg 2 for me. Thanks.

Phil - as discussed, if you could navigate the beginning section of leg 3 (to Sergeant Man?) then that would be great. Mike Nelson has agreed to navigate the remainder of leg 3 if he's available.

Chris Cripps and Annette have kindly agreed to navigate legs 4 and 5 respectively.

Regarding a navigator for leg 1, I'm waiting to hear if Julian might be available to do this but have not heard yet.

Cheers, Digby

Digby,
Starts to look like a top team.
Try Chris Rhodes for leg one,Mark Hartell,Mark Mcdermott.Leg 1 has caused a lot of problems/failures so you do need someone good.

Road Support for 20/21 July

Postby Digby » Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:43 pm

Thanks to all those offering to provide running support last night - much appreciated. I'll e-mail the latest schedule with support details to JB to post on the website (once I track down his e-mail address - John??).

However, is anyone wiling to provide road support/be road manager? Offers of help (for even just one of the road crossings) to ferry runners back to their cars would be greatly appreciated :D . Thanks.

Cheers, Digby

Ross' BG

Postby Stephen Watts » Tue Jul 03, 2007 9:42 am

Ross, why not 1, 4 and 5 as well. You know it makes sense. Excellent training for the TMB. I'm sure we could muster enough support for two contenders!
