I can't get to the start in time so will help Phil at the finish. He could probably do with some help (from a participant) at the start.

all,
Should be a decent evening & hopefully with the hilltop venue enough breeze to deter the pesky midge.
Gillian has offered to help at start & Barry at finish.

Thank you so much Phil, Gill and Barry for a splendiferous evening. It was great fun in a beautiful area, and the midges stayed away. Sorry not to come to the pub afterwards but it was over the wrong hill. Good to see Chris as well. Well done to the winners whoever you are. As people came in it sounded as if there was some very high scores. Thanks again everyone

Hi Phil - many thanks for yet another excellent event - you planned the course and the weather to perfection!

Thanks also to the 'helpers' who made it run smoothly.

Many congratulations to the winners of the various categories - chapeau!

It was all going so well. Up on time ( but still a few mins down on Digby, who seemed to have the same route strategy) and confident of visiting all the controls in the remaining time. Then disaster struck between controls 14 and 9, when my control score sheet went AWOL in the deep woods. Despite frantic searching it could not be found and it was game over and a depressing and self inflicted walk of shame through the deep forest to climb back to the cars. Should have pinned the sheet to my shorts ala Mr Swallow.

Still enjoyed my evening out though, so thanks to a Phil and his able assistants.

Thanks to Phil and helpers for an enjoyable if painful (ankle) outing. Is there a prize for lowest score?

Thanks to Phil and his helpers for a really excellent evening's fun. I made a couple of silly mistakes (mainly deciding to nip across the plantation to control 16 - should have taken a machete, or better, stuck to the path!) and couldn't find 13 (my fault) but I had an awesome time. I hope you raised a lot of money :)

HI all
Sorry for the late response but been another busy weekend in MR land! Good to catch up with some old(ish) faces and meet some new people. Moneys from this year have been donated to https://bloodwise.org.uk/ (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research which was formerly Leukaemia Research as it was 10 years ago if memory serves.)

While I'm here hopefully it's okay to also do a quick plug for Anthony Nolan, if people could take a moment and read, even register as a donor that'd be great. https://www.anthonynolan.org/ Those of you who new Polly will remember she had a bone marrow transplant as part of her treatment. (Not so long after doing the off road part of leg 5 of the BG, complete with a main line, supporting Paul Hunt I think it was as we'd run out of supporters on Will, Clare and Paul's successful attempt, with Julian Brown in hot pursuit not wanting to get in to trouble from myself!)

Cheers
Chris
