Wednesday Summer Series after Cracken Edge
Posted: Thu Aug 03, 2017 8:22 pm14 Harriers turned out in the penultimate race Cracken Edge (7mls/1450ft).
Some excellent performances particularly from Dan Croft 6th overall, 3rd vet and taking 1st V50 prize. Also Kathleen O'Donnell 3rd lady overall, 1st LV40 and Andrea Frost 1st LV50.
I've attached the updated table which still shows Mark Messenger 1st followed by Kathleen 2nd and Andrea moving up to 3rd overall all having got 5 qualifying races under their belt. With just Eccles Pike to come on Aug 9th Kathleen looks safe to be crowned 1st lady. For the men Mark is marginally favourite but either of Dan or Allen Bunyan (last year's winner) could pip him if they have a good run at Eccles Pike. Dan and Mark have both had outstanding years since turning 50 and have had some great tussles. Keep it up guys.

PS Interesting stat. There were 24 MV50's and Macc had 5 of the 1st 11! Dan, Mark, Shaun Wilde, Neil Hey and Spence Sivewright. Could turn out a very good V50 team in the FRA relays with Neil Clarke (V55).
