9.30 Standing Stones Car Park, Charity Lane, Macclesfield Forest, SK11 0, GR 978 715

A local 2 hour off-road run from the top of Macc Forest from where we can cruise around the scenic delights of the Peak District. Besides the scenic bits, there are two items of great historical interest to visit. The iron age fort at Toot Hill and the plaque to Walter Smith 1872 - 1949. Some of us have visited the fort before but now it provides fantastic views of the autumnal forest, so at this time of year is worth another visit. Industry is returning to Wildboarclough in the form of a gin distillery - Forest Gin, and our route may pass there as well!
