FELL WINTER SERIES after John O'Goats
Posted: Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:03 pmWhilst a few of us were stuck in mud in Delamere Forest on Sat 6th; 9 Harriers turned out in the John O'Goats orienteering event in Lyme Park. The several options for individuals to have a go (3 distances) and scoring based on different categories complicates slotting pts into our race series. Pragmatically I've taken the overall winners time and check pts visited and pro rata'd times for the number of CP's visited to give a relative time. "Wake up at the back"!
Mark Burley had a cracking run as did Clare Griffin not unexpected as both specialist orienteers.
Nett effect is that after 3 races Matt Lewis leads with Julie Gardner 2nd the only two to have done all 3.Graham Brown and Neil Gunn are 3rd and 4th.
Next races are Kinder Trial and Lambs Longer Leg on Jan 20th and 21st. Both pre entry by pidgeon post. Need to be prompt to get an entry.
