Lambs Longer leg - race review and results

Six Harriers were part of the 70+ field who took on this tough little race - the first in the 2019 fell champs. A decent turn out as it clashed with Marsden to Eadle race as well as yesterday's Manchester Cross Country league fixture.

For a number of us it was our first race in many months due to injury. And for Oscar Travena it was his first ever fell race. Basically this is a race for the purest: registrations took place out the back of car - despite the wind and rain, there was no pins, loos or refreshments! The weather was quite frankly shi@ - with wind and rain buffing us all the way round, so despite the short distance it highlighted the real risk of exposure, and it was a reminder of having the right kit.

Simon Bailey of Mercia maintained his winning streak and Caitlin Rice was first lady. Claire Griffin was first Harrier back and 3rd lady overall. Full results are here. http://www.t42.org.uk/cgi-bin/hc.pl?a=l ... s-leg-2019.

The next Championship race is Doctors Gate on Sunday 10 February. Entries are now open. More details here: https://fellrunner.org.uk/races.php?id=6541

Cheers
Graham

Thanks for the write up Graham - it was a bit of a bag weather wise but could have been much (much) worse! For me it was just so good to be back racing again. All I need is a bit of competition - come on Barry :)
