Following our fun fell running weekend away in September we have another weekend outing planned for the end of March. A chance to catch up with old and new friends and explore some new places!
Two races are on offer on the Saturday and both count towards the High Fell Series:
1. Coledale Horseshoe (14km/915m) is one of my favourite races; an 'M' shaped course, largely on obvious paths with a long slog up Grizedale Pike and long fast descent off Crag Hill.

Note this race is pre-entry
2. Eskdale Elevation (20km/1455m) is in my favourite part of Lakeland and takes in a summit of Illgill Head, above the famous Wasdale Screes and Scafell and is a more serious navigational experience in poor weather.

It goes without saying that entrants are expected to be able to navigate off the fell in poor weather, but Coledale is a good race for those wanting to improve their high fell experience and on a clear day the nav is uncomplicated. Equally there is no obligation to compete in order to participate in the weekend. Sunday, subject to legs and weather, we can take a morning hike/trot around some less familiar, but easy fells. Look on .
Accommodation will be in Eskdale YHA in West Cumbria. The cost for 2 nights should be no more that £45, but I am aiming for closer to £30 if we are organised and can book shared rooms. The sooner people commit the cheaper it will be! If you want a place please let me know ASAP (next few weeks please).
Cheers, Tom
