Everest Marathon

Postby mudskimmer » Mon Jul 30, 2007 9:20 pm

Some of you are probably aware that 'young 'un' (Louise) and 'owd 'un' (me), are doing the Everest marathon. This is a competitive race, and we fund our own trip to take part - BUT for this one time only, we will be raising money for charity - the Everest Marathon Fund. http://www.everestmarathon.org.uk/
To make parting with your money easier - you can donate on line at our webpage http://www.justgiving.com/KathandLouise

For those of you who prefer to donate to a local charity, I have nominated the East Cheshire Hospice, but will collect seperately for that.

Greg the Gardener is also joining us as the 'official photographer', so should have some good piccies. 8)

You have been warned!

I believe Ed's daughter is just 17 years old. Highly commendable, but am I mistaken in thinking that runners should be 18 years old to enter a marathon?
Have the rules changed?
Becky ran her first at just 18 - she was the youngest runner in the London marathon that year.

I`m sure young Anna would be delighted to be only 17,but as she`s just back from Iraq & is an army Captain i don`t think so!!!
Ed tells me he was speaking to Diana this week & the race is oversubscribed. She`s already turned down a dozen or more applications

Update

Postby mudskimmer » Sat Sep 22, 2007 5:12 pm

www.justgiving.com/kathandlouise - we have raised just over £1100 so far in on-line and off-line donations.
Thanks to those of you that have already donated, and get your hands out of your pockets those who haven't.

For the more observant of you - the money goes to the same charity that Mark and Spyke are supporting.
