Team Members needed - High Peak 40

Postby Philip Barnes » Wed Nov 21, 2007 2:25 pm

Myself and John T are now up for this. Andy Skel. was going to doi but it clashes with a Fish Supper apparently :?
We are still working on Julie F but if anyone is interested in joining a "steady" gang, please let me know.

"The route is at least 40 miles long and for much of its distance the terrain is pathless peat bog." Surely enough to tempt someone else to join in the madness?! See the website for further info: http://www.highpeakclub.union.shef.ac.uk/hpm
C'mon! Jon T

I am going to complete our entry this week-end and need two people who I can at least say are on our team. The entry requires addresses, emails DOB,s experience, and tel numbers. Can you help?
Jon, I definitely need your details because you really are doing it!

Phil,

I think you should pick 2 people who are doing it, I'll happily send you their details. (You might even tell them, but later perhaps.)

Andy will have surely finished his fish supper by 11pm, if not he can take it to eat between you.

Julie has been looking particularly sprightly of late, and practicing for the HPM by standing at the top of shuts for ages.

Ideal candidates I'd have thought.

Phil/Jon,

If you're really serious about doing this, go out this Friday evening irrespective of the weather conditions, leave one car at the Snake summmit and drive a second car down to Moscar. Set off any time after 6.00p.m. to complete the Northern part of this circuit i.e. the route over Bleaklow. If or when you finish you still intend to submit an entry..................then you're more crazy than I thought.

Phil, Stick an entry in & put my name etc... as one of the team if you wish.
The important thing is the entry goes in. As Club fell rep I can confirm that the club will stand the entry fee should we get in but not be able to field a full team ( very unlikely ). In the last couple of years there have been well in excess of 100 team applications for 40 places.
Cheers. Craig.

Them indeed were the days Phil! I had thought the mental scars were all but healed but this has caused a relapse. Nothing else for it - I'll just have to go out for a run.
