I entered & I know from speaking to the organiser Andy Howie the other week that its filling up fast. It's worth doing the event for the food afterwards ! which is probably the best post race feed ever ( apologies for the Carlsberg advert pun ).
I have also entered ( Janet also ) next weeks Lambs Longer Leg which is from the Lamb Inn on the road between Chinley & Hayfield. This is a great fierce short race.
Both races give members who would normally be behind me chance to take a scalp as I am running dog slow & still coughing & wheezing. But I'm hopefully on the mend fast now !.
Cheers. Craig.

Yep, I've entered as well but not received confirmation yet.
Barry, Trev et al. - can I catch a lift if there's space and I get in?

As I recall from previous years Digby you won't get any confirmation of your entry. You very rarely do for fell races, generally if you do hear from an organiser its to tell you they are oversubscribed & the race is full. Just thought this was worth pointing out to those road runners etc who race on the fells only ocassionally or are new to the scene.
Cheers,
Craig.

for those who may be interested the results have appeared on the hayfield website.

http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/temples-bin/hc. ... trial-2008

i think it was a nice gesture to not only include visiting the controls but also nigel's mother in edale, aunty gladys in chapel etc. on the way round.

i'm sure all that were there would like to thank andy howie and co for organising and putting on the event, grand day out, much appreciated.

and if you fancy something similar (but possibly somewhat more challenging i think) there's the new chew up Greenfield way in a few weeks, details here - 3 classes to choose from - (it is a good event - but every year there's only us 2 and john b from macc there. )

I'll be missing the New Chew this year - we're going to Finland skiing!
Great event though, and good hearty food afterwards too (why else would Julian be there?....)

Thanks Julian for the results link. Contrary to popular opinion I didn't visit a tea shop (although I could have easily have done so and got back within my time of 3h10 if I'd made the right route choice and hadn't dawdled so much). I had an excellent time out though - I'd thoroughly recommend it to those who haven't given it a go and the food afterwards is great.

Just to point out that the New Chew race is the same day as the Cloud Nine race from Congleton which is in this years club fell champs.
