High Peak Marathon reccy

Postby Julian Brown » Fri Jan 18, 2008 12:30 pm

I’m planning on having a gentle trot round the Bleaklow - Moscar to Snake Top section of the Derwent Watershed / High Peak Marathon route next Sat 26th Jan.

It’s about 18 miles and in the past has taken up to 5 hr including stops.

Will be at a steady ‘reccy’ pace – all welcome, no-one will be left behind.

Start at some suitably early time Sat am (9 ish?).

It could be just a touch damp in a couple of places – the rest will be very wet indeed and it’s quite exposed so suitable kit needed.

Should anyone else be daft enough to want to come along, please post on here or let me know, (otherwise it’ll be just me)

If you’re doing the event, you’ll know what you’re letting yourself in for – if you’re not (yet !) you can have the excuses ready when the ‘phone rings.

- cheers Julian

Hmmm, let me think about this one. I may be up for it and it could help me make up my mind once and for all about the event!

Count me in unless knee plays up this weekend. Not doing the event, but could do with a nice bog trot!
Cheers

What you actually mean't Mandy is that you have not yet been asked to do the event. I wouldn't rule out that Mr. Barnes, Mr Tatham & yours truely asking you to join us as we seem to be struggling to find willing Volunteers / Fools !.
Cheers. Craig.

A wonderful opportunity to sample the horrors of this nocturnal event under the expert tutelage of Julian. If you want further enhancements then wear a couple of pairs of strong sunglasses to simulate night time. Don't forget your mobile as all responsible runners will have one on the Skyline. Might even come along myself. Is that OK Julian? Shall we talk about it on Wednesday!

How`s this going to work on the transport front?
I will probably be able to help with transport & just maybe,if the knee holds together this week, join the run for some or all of it.

I want to have my hair done, and so does my dog
(hopefully it's a euphemism for something)

I am also confused but what's new? As I see it the High Peak Marathon event is now at risk due to the irresponsible actions of one person who has decided to have a hair cut?
