Weekend Run

Postby phil cheek » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:40 pm

Anyone up for a long run Saturday or Sunday?
I thought maybe Edale Skyline, starting in Edale village(maybe meet in the cafe by the railway) with a detour from the race route for a butty/cake at The Woodbine.
This route can cope with a spread of speeds by use of shortcuts & extra bits and can be extended towards the end if the BG & TMB contenders need more.

Are there going to be more white rabbits to chase?

Sounds good. Vastly preferable to pain and suffering on the Long Mynd. Count me and the dirty beast in.

Include me in the starting frame for this fabulous outing. Seriously the start is probably the only time you'll see me as I'm going so slow at the moment. Preference for Saturday but could make either.

The lovely Janet & myself will be tripping around a tough 10 mile circuit of the Long Mynd in lovely Shropshire. I suspect there will be at least a hundred other souls doing the same including some club Members. Don't want to promote it too much as doing so will likely seriously affect my points tally in the Club Fell champs 08 ( can anyone beat Barry this year ? ).

I'm planning to go out on Saturday anyway so if I could hook up with some fellow Harriers for company that'd be good! Need to get some miles in for the HPM...

Sounds like a plan Phil. I'll be travelling from Sandbach and can meet up with or pick up whoever (from Macc or Bolly) en route to Edale; bearing in mind my car is of the small SEAT Ibizia variety...

Anyone who wants to frolic in the snow tomorrow.
Meet at mine at 9,or Andy Skelhorn`s by 9.15
4 or 5 hour run is planned with a lunchstop at Woodbine cafe.....but if road coditions are bad our alternative routes do NOt have cafe lunchstops so bring something to grab behind a wall.
Why would anyone not be on the hill tomorrow?!!!!!!!

Good Watershed training conditions tomorrow if you go to the Skyline! If you can get there.

Andy will love it. I won't be coming. It could be chilly.

Hard life getting rich as a property developer Col.
We had a good day, starting in pristine snow from Rushup Edge, never deeper than a couple of inches so still runnable.
Bacon butty in the Woodbine & back up onto the Mam Tor ridge, sadly now snow free `cos it had been in the sun all day.
Thanks to Andy & Jon,& above all Lilly, for waiting for me all day.
Hope you all suffer well tomorrow at Long Mynd.
