Thought i'd stick a bit of info up about a new race coming up.

'The Whaley Waltz Fell Race, 28th June 2008

The Whaley Waltz Fell Race is a new event for 2008. It is being run in conjunction with the Whaley Bridge Rose Queen Festival, also known as the Whaley Carnival. The course has been designed with the fell runner in mind and whilst being challenging is wholly runnable with some fantastic views.

Goyt Valley Striders have secured a comprehensive array of prizes for the event and ones that are well worth winning. We're sure if your run this race you'll be back for more next year.'

Full details are as follows:

SAT. JUN 28. WHALEY BRIDGE CARNIVAL FELL RACE – “THE WHALEY WALTZ”.
(R) BS. 2:15pm Approx 5.5 Miles/1,050ft from Whaley Bridge Primary School, Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge, High Peak, SK23 7HX (GR 012811 on OS White Peak Map)

£4.00 on day only. PM. Over 16.

Race starts after the carnival procession has passed at approx 2:15pm
(registration closes at 1:50pm);

The Whaley Carnival / procession itself is a good way to spend a few hours (if it's not chucking it down) so if you have family who want to do that whilst you run the race it would make a decent afternoon.
