11th Fellsman Victory for Mark Hartell.

Really pleased to report that Mark did manage to win the event for a record 11th time.

Alan Heaton, one of the legends of fell running won the event 10 times, a record that Mark equalled in 07. Having created & popularised his RunFurther race series Mark has made his feat even tougher !. Sounds like he had to work hard for his victory this year & at one point he was only in 5th place. However the hot weather seemed to take a greater toll on those ahead of him & he gradually overhauled them all. The winning margin was only 3mins though so he was run closer than for many a year.

Excellent Effort Mark & many congratulations - a record to be very proud of & one that I suspect he will attempt ( & probably suceed ) to extend further.
