SUNDAY 21ST SEPT LONG RUN EDALE ANYONE?

Postby LARRY » Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:02 pm

Hi All

Anyone fancy joining me for a canter round the skyline route starting earlier the better on Sunday morning. No need for speed, just an amble, to get miles in legs, can always drop off if the knees start giving way, then cake and tea after, can't say fairer than that eh? Probably start from Edale itself. :?:

Ha Ha!
Some of us are more interested in exploring the lesser known areas of our beloved Peaks than seeking glory by merely getting round all the check points in a speedy and efficient manner
I also appreciated being able to amble round without meeting anyone else for a good part of the day. It has been suggested that I should sit at Barrys feet and learn some of the finer points of Navigation! But then I might miss my many meetings with barbed wire and farm dogs!

Phil
Having tried map and compass with my visual impediments (is that a red, brown or green? etc) have come to the conclusion that all you need is a good nose for sniffing out check points and routes. Mine's now almost perfect apart from minor sequencing problems relating to the first and 50/50 chance of taking the reverse option for the second.

Has a time or meeting point been agreed?

Sorry for delay in details. Would ideally like to start running by 9am, or is this unrealistic? Suggest meeting in the car park in Edale by the village hall.

Please note this run has been cancelled in favour of tagging on to Mr Tuckers far more sensible sounding jaunt. Sorry for any inconvenience.
