We're off down on the Sat 25th Feb for a Long Distance Walkers event in Shrops.

On the Sunday we'll probably have a go at the Mercia hill trial, if it's local and if the organiser has recovered from the Pennine Way last week.
The venue hasn't been announced yet but it's usually been on or near the Long Mynd somewhere.
So a few options for that weekend.

Don't know if anyone is coming down for the LMV race this weekend? It is a great run out and a good chance to reccie the route. I am hoping to run Sunday, but will be there anyway.I have some maps with the optimum route marked. For anyone taking part, be warned, there will be a full kit check before the start. The weather looks good and it should be clear on the tops...

Finally achieved mediocrity, 99 ahead, 99 behind.
Well run Dan, and thanks for the pre race advice on route.
Good to see many friends old and new.
For those who weren't there you missed a great day out with perfect weather and superb views over the Shropshire hills.

Sundays was a great race, and if the scattering of people taking differing routes over the latter part was anything to go by, the champs race will be very entertaining with 500 runners!

Well run Julian, it was, as you well know, a tough course with a silly slippy final descent to the finish.

If anyone would like to reccie the route, before Champs race, I am free this coming Saturday and will happily take people round. It is the only weekend I could do this before the Champs run, and it would need to be Saturday. Everyone welcome, it will be a nice easy pace....

I'm up for that Dan. I've done it a couple times some time ago so will be good to get it in my head.

Emma, have just seen your post. We're down for our navigation training on Saturday 18th so there's no clash of dates. Kath Turner and I both have events on this Saturday otherwise we would have gone down. However we'll be going down to recce before the race, but it may well be a week day
